Mini-Maegan Amugurumi

Hello, crafters!

A very dear friend of mine recently had a birthday, and I wanted to make her something special and unique to her. And what’s more unique than a miniature crocheted version of yourself?!

If there’s someone in your life who would enjoy a miniature version of themselves, why not try out this pattern and adapt it so it resembles them? You can easily make adjustments to clothing colors, hair, and accessories! Need some hair ideas? Check out some of my other amigurumi doll patterns!

My Maegan has trademark crazy hair, which is why she almost always wears it up in a bun. Even contained, the crazy hair tries to escape! To emulate this, I took a piece of velcro and carefully hooked it into the doll’s hair and lifted, creating fuzz. I did this repeatedly all around the head so that I got all the hair, including the bun. You can also do this with a fine-toothed comb, but it will take much, much longer. (Trust me.)

Pattern – Maegan’s Eyeshadow (w/ yarn):

Take a piece (about  6”) of black 4-ply yarn and carefully split in half. The result is two strands of 2-ply yarn. Use a sewing needle to carefully make stitches on the outsides of the eyes. Weave in ends. See photos to get a better idea.

Pattern – Maegan’s Eyes (w/ yarn):

(Use this method if you are not going to be using the safety eyes for the doll.)

With a strand of black yarn, use a tapestry needle to hand-stitch the first eye onto the doll. Weave in ends. With another strand of black yarn, hand-stitch the second eye onto the doll so that there are two empty sc spaces between the eyes. See photos for placement if needed.

What do you think? I was lucky enough to have a beautiful camera charm necklace laying around that had poor, brittle leather on the strap, so I recycled it into a cute little camera for my Mini Maegan. So cute! Now she has two cameras!

And the best part? My Maegan loved her! As any crafter knows, having your hand-crafted one-of-a-kind gift be loved and cherished by its new owner brings as much joy as the act of crafting it!

Make your own Mini Maegan (or your own Mini Anyone!) today and share with someone you love!

***Please feel free to share this pattern with other crafters! You may make and sell products from my patterns, but I ask that you please link back to my post. Please do not copy this pattern and claim it as your own. Let’s share the yarn-crafting love!***
