Firefly CAL Banners

Hello, crafters!

Thanks so much for your patience as I put these banners together for the Firefly CAL. It’s been a rough couple of weeks for me, and I’ve had absolutely zero willpower as of late.

BUT. After some elbow grease and some encouragement, I’ve finally been able to put all of these banners together!

Note that there are two different sizes of banners included:

  • The “small” banners are designed to be used by themselves on the top and/or bottom of your blanket.
  • If you want to use four banners (one on top, one on the bottom, and one on each side), you can use the large banners on the top and the bottom, and you can use the small banners on the sides.

There are a handful of quotes to choose from, so pick your favorites!

    1. Hi unkhani,

Yardage estimates for the banners was not included, but depending on the banners, I’d estimate one skein of the Stylecraft Special DK yarn for the lettering and two skeins for the field color. If you’re doing side banners (instead of just top and bottom), I’d recommend doubling that.

      Hope that helps!

  1. HI,

I am new to this and am going to make this for my son. I have watched the videos and feel I have the technique down – but – is there a video for the banner? I am a bit confused on it.

    Thanks so much!

      1. Thank you so much! I find my 54 yr old eyes struggle with the squares so I wrote out the patterns so it will make for easy airplane crochet. Thanks again for all of your hard work. I will check out the video. I really should just make a square with leftover yarn so when my yarn gets here (I order from Wool Warehouse in the UK) I can get moving along. I appreciate so much your hard work, do you have a way I could send you a small donation?

      2. Hi Robin–I’m not set up to take donations at this time, but that is super sweet of you! Thank you for thinking of me. I love getting to chat with my fellow crafters, so keep the comments coming! 😉 ❤
